Reviews and Complaints
Hudson' s We were VERY happy!
I was really impressed with the service we got at Hudson's...North Tampa store. We didn't know what we wanted to do with the house we bought but we had a great sales girl ,Cindy, who took a lot of time with us..gave us some amazing ideas..We ran with it!
We bought a couple pieces at first..had no problems with the delivery..The delivery guys were on time, quick, were careful..
We have 4 more rooms to decorate...and we know where we will be going!
We went to iKea , Rroms to Go and couple other stores..We liked the quality at Hudsons much better and Cindy worked with us on a price..
So made for a great buying experience!

DEFECTIVE COUCH-HORRIBLE WARRANTY
Purchased a couch 6 months ago and Hudson's is refusing to take their defective couch back and give me my money. I regret buying anything from this store.
I have spent over $5000 on furniture there and i regret it. BEWARE! DO NOT give them your money. They sell you a warranty that they REFUSE to honor.
They sent a tech here who told me that he does see where the couch was sinking but wrote a report that he doesn't see an issue with the couch. I am dissappointed in how Hudson's treat their customers.
Never again. Waiting too long for purchase.

Hudsons Furniture - Delivery Service Review from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Never buy furniture from Hudson. Nice people at the store to sucker you in followed by incompitant delivery and customer service, and poor quality product.
The mattress we got was so warped after 6 months that we stopped sleeping on it. Originally they said they would refund us.
But after several days of phone calls and missed deliveries they changed their mind. I will never shop there again and i caution others to do the same.
They tell you whatever it takes to make the sale.
Purchased a sofa. Was told it would be delivered in two weeks.
four weeks later, no sofa. I desperately needed the sofa due to company coming into town so I decided to cancel the order and find something else only to be told that it was a final sale (never told). "Too late, it is already on the way here" is what they said. Come to find out from the distributor that it takes a minimum of 8 weeks from purchase to delivery (so "two weeks" was a big lie).
C J in Brandon is very fake and will say whatever it takes to make the sale. Lisa, the district manager, will back her BFF, C J. Very rude....talks over you and interrupts. Doesn't really give a *** what you have to say.
Her BFF status is far more important than her responsibilities as a manager. Bottom line, I am so happy I have the worlds best credit card company which backed me on this and I didn't have to pay a penny.
Will never shop there again. Very unprofessional staff and poor management.
Defective Bed, Hudson Brand
The bedding purchased for $2000 is defective and has a concave dent on the one side after 6 weeks of sleeping on it by a 140 lb female. We went to purchase a living room set and decided to purchase a new mattress as well. Explained that we were looking at the I Comfort series as they were highly rated through Consumer Reports. The sales manager steered up to the Hudson brand, River Oak. He stated they were the same as the I Comfort and the same price. we tried the mattress in the store and it was comfortable. He kept telling us how great a product it was so we went for it. The manager also talked us into a king bed and stated it should fit our existing frame. The mattress was delivered after about 2 weeks, it did not fit the frame but was comfortable, we called the store and the manager offered to replace the bed with the original size we needed, a California king. About a week and half later we received the new bed. It fit the frame and I made it up. The bed was uncomfortable from the beginning we called the store and the sales manager said to give it a couple a weeks to "break in". Now the mattress has a dent on one side and is very uncomfortable. I wake up every morning after tossing and turning with a back ache. We called the store to try and get the mattress replaced. The manager said he could not take the mattress back as it is not a normal size and they would unable to resell it and to give it more time to "break in". We went to the store to speak with the store manager. He told us they don't have a time frame for mattress returns. He suggested we turn the mattress and try to change a sleeping positions to break the mattress in. We reluctantly agreed meanwhile the store would send someone out to check the mattress for a defect. We turned the mattress like suggested and now both my husband and myself are feeling the back pain in the morning. This is ridiculous. The people coming to check the mattress said they would contact us 48 hours before they arrived. I called them back and explained that we could be available from 1 to 5 and needed and early morning appointment. They called back and said they don't do that. They called to say they showed up and no one was available. I already informed them of the hours I would be available. They called again and stated they could not get anyone out to my home for two weeks and would reschedule. This is completely uncalled for. Hudson has been ignoring my complaint and after spending $2000 on a bed that was the not the one I was looking at and a manager's recommendation I am done. If a bed is causing back pain there is something wrong. After having the manager talk us into the wrong size bed because he doesn't know bed frames and then getting a mattress I am sure is used(going by the sales manager's words, we can't resell that size mattress)I want this bed out of my home as soon as possible and a good night's sleep. I called the store manager on 7/18/2015 at 12:00 pm and was told he was with a customer, he never returned my call. After seeing him in the store and being told to turn my mattress 360 degrees I was not surprised at no return call. They sent our a bed specialist and admitted the bed was dipping an 1 in on the concaved side but they insist it should 1 3/4 to have a defect. If the bed dips and inch after 6 weeks what will happen over time. My back and leg are seriously hurting and I am unable to sleep in the bed for waking up with pain. The manager stated this was nirmal because foam conforms to your body. But he wont admit the foam should also bounce back to its normal shape not stay indented. The district manager called and offered to "Let" me purchase another bed for a 20% discount. So it would cost be another 1800.00 plus tax on top of the 2000.00 already paid, but I could keep the defective mattress. Hudson does not have customer service they are just out to get money and screw the comsumer any way they can. 180*-419-****

Hudson's does not care about it's customers
Everything you have said about Hudson's is so true. They do not need to stay in business.
There policy that Hudson's cares about customers is a lie. Do not buy anything from them. If you have something that is defective they just hope you will go away. Hudson's "Word of mouth" is huge.
I was told by one of your employees it wasnt really that big of a deal. Well they were wrong.
I got legal advice and was told there is a Consumer Warranty that is backed by Government Expectation. Companies like Hudson's doesn't want you to know about it.
Unethical Service: What to look for and how to protect yourself
This company is unethical. Let me explain why. If you order a new piece of furniture chances are you will receive a used piece. If it does not arrive at your house in the original factory box, it was a returned item. I have seen them fix completely damaged items and ship it to the customer as new. I have seen them ship furniture that was previously owned as new. The customer is not aware the furniture was damaged or previously returned.
The delivery teams are trained to hide any damaged areas so the customer are not aware until it is to late. Their trailers are filthy and leak when it rains. If the furniture damage cannot be fixed or the customer saw damage during delivery, the furniture is brought back to the warehouse, fixed and shipped out to the next customer as a new piece. They will keep reshipping the refurbished furniture until someone takes it.
When I walked through the warehouse all I could hear is Nig** this and Nig** that. I never heard so many racial slurs in my life, complete lack of respect for anyone. When I looked down at one of the departments I saw mattresses with urine, mold and god knows what against furniture that was send back and going out. In the beginning of the tour, one delivery team member looked like he just got out of prison. The company should think about their appearance and have people hide their prison tattoos.
Remember this:
1. If you order anything at all, have it delivered in the original factory box unopened. If it is damaged, make sure the replacement is delivered in an unopened factory box. If not, you’re getting a refurbished piece at new customer price.
2. Inspect the piece within three days. Look at the corners. If the gloss, color or the lines does not look right…return it. Corners and legs are not most common places for damage.
3. Most of the pieces like Riverside, Cortina Collection and others will state “Quality Wood” it is not wood. Almost every thing you see is foam injected or pressed cardboard. It is very misleading. It will look and feel like wood but it is not wood.
4. Know what to pay. Take the highest marked price and take 70% away. That is what the Hudson’s paid for the piece. Negotiate from there.
5. If you buy the warranty make sure everything they tell you is in the contract. They will say anything but will not honor anything if it is not in writing.
Good luck…..
